Maryland kids fined for running lemonade stand

  Eyewitness NewsBETHESDA (WABC) -- A government official in Maryland is feeling the heat after sticking to the letter of the law.

A county inspector shut down a lemonade stand run by children because it was near the U.S. Open in Bethesda.

The stand didn't have a permit.

The inspector even fined the parents $500 after giving them a couple of warnings.

So far, the county is standing behind the inspector.
