Video: Static electricity sparks gas station fire

Eyewitness NewsOKLAHOMA (WABC) -- A small spark from static electricity caused a truck to burst into flames at a gas station in Oklahoma.

Officials say such a thing has happened a few times and is more common in the winter months.

This latest incident happened Monday in Oklahoma City, while a woman was putting gas in her truck.

The woman began filling up, then went to sit inside her car to keep warm.

That created some static, and when she got out of the car and touched the handle, it ignited the fire.
